Linden Place consists of a majestic mansion and grounds built for the seafaring General George DeWolf in 1810. Featured in the Robert Redford film adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," the estate is open for tours, showcasing tales of DeWolf's dramatic encounters with slave trading and financial ruin, as well as period furnishings and other artifacts, and a garden packed with bronze statues and other outdoor delights. It lies downtown, just west of the Bristol Statehouse.
